Bach Flower

Dr. Edward Bach (1886 - 1936) began his medical career as a conventional physician, bacteriologist, and pathologist. Through his clinical work, he observed that while conventional medicine could successfully treat physical symptoms, some patients did not fully recover — even when their diagnosis and treatment were considered correct.

He noticed that in certain cases, two patients with the same illness would respond very differently to the same treatment. This led him to realize that something deeper than the physical body was influencing recovery.

This realization inspired him to search for a gentler, more holistic system of healing focused on balancing emotional states — which ultimately led to the development of the Bach Flower Remedies.

Dr. Bach’s philosophy was based on a simple but profound belief: true healing begins in the emotional and spiritual dimension of the person.

He believed that illness is not just a physical condition, but the result of a disharmony between the personality and the soul. According to Dr. Bach, when we ignore our inner truth — through fear, insecurity, resentment, guilt, pride, or lack of purpose — this internal conflict can eventually manifest in the body as disease.

Core Principles of His Philosophy

  • Treat the person, not the disease.
Two people with the same diagnosis may need completely different remedies because their emotional experiences are different.

  • Emotional balance restores physical health.
When negative emotional states are transformed into positive qualities (fear into courage, despair into hope, doubt into confidence), the body is better able to heal itself.

  • Healing should be simple and natural.
He believed remedies should be gentle, safe, and accessible to everyone.

  • The patient is the guide.
The practitioner listens deeply, but the individual’s feelings and self-awareness are central in choosing the remedies.

Dr. Bach’s work with the Bach Flower Remedies was not only a therapeutic system, but also a spiritual philosophy of self-responsibility, self-knowledge, and inner harmony.

Reiki

Mikao Usui was a Japanese spiritual teacher and the founder of the Reiki healing system, a practice centered on energy healing, balance, and spiritual development.

Born in Japan in 1865, Usui dedicated much of his life to the study of spirituality, meditation, philosophy, and healing practices. From this experience, he developed what became known as Reiki — a gentle healing method based on channeling universal life energy through the hands.

Usui believed that true healing involved not only the physical body, but also emotional, mental, and spiritual balance. He emphasized the importance of personal growth, inner peace, gratitude, and compassionate living as part of the healing journey.

Mikao Usui created Reiki as a holistic healing practice based not only on energy work, but also on a philosophy of personal and spiritual development.

Reiki is often described as a gentle energy healing technique that promotes relaxation, emotional balance, and overall well-being.

Reiki can be understood as “universal life energy.”

Core Principles of His Philosophy

Just for today, do not anger

A reminder to cultivate patience, self-awareness, and emotional balance rather than reacting impulsively.

Just for today, do not worry

An invitation to trust the present moment and release excessive fear and anxiety about the future.

Just for today, be grateful

Gratitude helps shift our perspective and reconnect us with the abundance already present in life.

Just for today, work honestly

To live with integrity, sincerity, and respect in everything we do.

Just for today, be kind to every living thing

Compassion toward ourselves, others, animals, and nature is considered an essential part of spiritual growth.

Usui believed that healing begins from within and that caring for the mind, emotions, and spirit naturally supports the body as well. Reiki is therefore not only a healing technique, but also a daily practice of mindfulness, balance, and compassionate living.
